Title: Business Development Manager

About us: Mama Kenya Empowerment Centers is a social enterprise aimed at accelerating women economic empowerment.  The Center was established as an affiliate of Women’s Empowerment Link (WEL).  The center establishes programmes and projects that strengthen the capacity of women and girls to be competitive entrepreneurs, professional employees, proprietors and business leaders in Kenya

Description: 
Business Development Manager Purpose: to build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.

Business Development Manager Duties:
  • Develop, negotiate strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with the organization strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners' needs and goals
  • Undertake market research on the products the organization offers and plan to provide and analyze competition
  • Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring existing and emerging opportunities
  • Tailor make creative products for women economic empowerment capacity building
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading    professional   publications;   maintaining   personal   networks;
  • participating in professional organizations and/ or bodies
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Must have experience of 3 years in marketing & sales in similar or related jobs;
  • Understanding in Closing Skills, Motivation for Sales, Prospecting Skills, Sales Planning, Selling to Customer Needs, Territory Management, Market Knowledge, Presentation Skills, High Energy Level, Meeting Sales Goals, Professionalism.
Educational qualification: Degree in Business studies, Marketing, Economics, Administration, or related studies
