CMMB is a leading faith-based International organization with operations in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean; with the mission of improving global health care for the world’s poor, by building healthy, sustainable communities through community engagement and partnerships, CMMB has been operational for over 100 years and 10 years in Kenya in the field of health care, Health System Strengthening, HIV & AIDS (treatment, care and support) ,Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) and Global fund.

As CMMB enters its second century, we envision a focus on programs which will effectively impact the lives of children and mothers.
Our forward looking vision is to partner with communities, individuals, agencies and donors in need in Kenya in a long term strategic way to address the leading causes of maternal and child death, disability and illness through Children and Mothers Partnerships (CHAMPS).
We envision impacting leading causes of maternal and child death such as diarrhea, pneumonia and malaria as well as influencers of good health including water, sanitation and nutrition.
This will serve as primary model for improving health and building a strong community for the future.

Description of NGO Job Duties

  • Provide leadership in implementation of CHAMPS Program in Mutomo.
  • Work with various stakeholders to increase access to health care services.
  • Work with CHV’s to Increase awareness and knowledge on identified public health issues such as non-communicable diseases, TB, HIV/AIDS and STIs
  • Work with CHV’s and other stake holders to empower communities to identify, advocate for, and implement programs that improve their health and well-being.
  • Create awareness and response to harmful cultural beliefs and practices, and gender bias.
  • Ensure program indicators are tracked, captured and reported timely using the appropriate tools so as to produce quality program monitoring and evaluation.
  • Attend and represent CMMB in stake holder meetings and forums within the CHAMPS region important to CHAMPS implementation.
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Professional Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s Degree in public health, community development, program management.

Relevant Program Officer Experience & Skills

  • The incumbent must have at least 3 years’ experience in community health work.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
  • Should have good computer skills, report writing skills and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate activities at the community level.
  • Experience in community mobilization.
  • Experience in implementation of the community strategy.
  • Knowledge of the MOH systems.
