A Global Merchandiser
of commodities and processor of agricultural goods, based in Nairobi is seeking
to recruit an Agronomist. The successful candidate MUST have a
minimum of 5 years experience working on a plantation or with a plantation
management company.
Key Responsibilities;
·
Perform crop
surveys in East Africa in coordination with coffee platform research.
·
Support the set-up
of sustainable supply chain.
·
Direct
sourcing/traceability initiatives and certification of sustainable supply
chain.
·
Management
of agro-technical processes in the cultivation of plants.
·
Determine
ways of cultivating crops on different plots of land.
·
Select
and procure the seeds, fertilizers and other materials required for plant
growth.
·
Manage
the exploitation of land resources.
·
Prepare
laboratory tests for agricultural land and organization.
·
Prepare
the production plan for the crop plants.
Qualifications;
·
MUST have 5 years experience in plantation management.
·
MUST have a Bachelors Degree in Agronomy, Plant Sciences
or related field.
·
A master’s degree
will be an added advantage.
·
MUST have experience working in East Africa.
·
MUST have a minimum of 2 years in senior management.
·
Computer literate.
·
Ability to work
under minimum supervision.
·
Good written and
spoken English.
·
Possess good
analytical and observational skills.
·
MUST be willing to travel.
