The National Council for Population and Development is a Semi-Autonomous Government Agency in the Ministry of Devolution and Planning. The Council seeks to recruit Research Assistants for a research to be conducted on male involvement in Family Planning and Reproductive Health (RH)
Job Description
The following are what is expected from the Research Assistants who will be engaged as data collectors:
Attend the Research Assistant’s training without fail;

Be available for the field work at the required time;
Together with the supervisors identify eligible members for FGD, In-depth interview, case study (narrative) and observation;
Collect survey data on male involvement in family planning and RH in their respective regions or as directed by the supervisor;
Ensure quality in the data they collect;
Transcribe data on male involvement in family planning and RH;
Submit transcribed data to NCPD for data processing and analysis;
Compile and submit an administrative field report on the male involvement in family planning and RH for their region.

Qualifications and experience
The Research Assistants should have the following qualifications and experience:
Hold at least a degree/diploma certificate in Sociology, Anthropology, Population or Communication or related Social Sciences;
Must be fluent in their local language;
Must demonstrate skills required for qualitative research and transcription (communication, writing, listening);
Must be 30 years and above;
Must be available for the entire period of the survey.

Assignment Duration
The duration of the assignment will be 40 days for data collection and 20 days for data processing for those who would have performed VERY well in their transcriptions.
