PROJECT ACCOUNTANT - YOUNG URBAN WOMEN PROJECT

Lead ActionAid’s innovative project on young urban women’s life choice and livelihoods! Over the next three years ActionAid will implement a ground-breaking project that focuses on young women from the age of 15-25 who are living in poor urban areas in Ghana, India and South Africa. The project will explore the intersection between women’s sexual and reproductive health rights and their right to decent work. The aim of the project is to support young women to organise and mobilise so that they can address the barriers that are affecting their life choices and livelihoods such as early marriage, access to contraception, unemployment and unfair working conditions.

The Project Accountant, working on a part-time basis, will ensure the financial integrity of the specific externally funded Young Urban Women: Life choices and Livelihoods projects. The project is funded by two donors – Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) and the Human Dignity Foundation (HDF). The role provides consolidated financial plans and reports for the projects as needed within the requirements of the different donors and Project Management/Accountability teams. The role is primarily to support the International Project Manager of the Young Urban Women project.
