The Need
International Justice Mission (IJM) Kenya is working to bring relief to victims of child sexual assault, police abuse of power and false imprisonment. It seeks to hold to account perpetrators of these crimes; and aims to bring transformation to the public justice system as a whole.
IJM is seeking a qualified and energetic professional to support IJM’s Structural Transformation project. The Training Administrator will
have the opportunity to provide the logistical support necessary for the team to train leaders in the public justice system; work with the church; and educate the public on how to protect victims of police abuse. IJM Kenya supports government partners and Civil Society Organizations to identify gaps in the public justice system to ensure that poor people have access to justice. The goal is to assist government and non-government actors to structurally improve the public justice system in a sustainable way to ensure that justice for the poor is possible.
This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya and reports to the IJM Training Attorney.

Responsibilities
Event Logistics
  • Liaise with government training participants and their supervisors regarding IJM training and mentorship events;
  • Coordinate training logistics as needed with ST project partners;
  • Mobilise members of the community to participate in training and education efforts;
  • Secure, locations, food vendors and supplies for training and education programs, adhering to IJM financial procurement protocols and best practices; and
  • Provide navigation and translation support for IJM staff travelling in the field.

 Training Support
  • Translate education and training presentations, curricula and materials;
  • Provide feedback to ST project partners on their training materials, as needed;
  • Assist the Training Attorney in facilitating training presentations to government officials and the general public;
  • Collect, maintain, and make available all training data in accordance with the standards, timeframe, and frequency noted in the Monitoring & Evaluation Plan;
  • Assist the M&E Coordinator and Training Attorney in analysing training data and reporting training results;
  • Assist the ST Program Director and Director of Casework track training participants’ interaction with IJM staff in their collaborative casework projects;
  • Assist in hosting guests, visitors, and volunteers; and
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Training Attorney or the ST Program Director.

Travel Requirements
This position requires some travel to and from areas within Nairobi and its environs during working hours with some overnight travel on a less frequent basis.

Required Skills and Experience
  • At least three years of experience as a professional administrator, trainer, mobiliser or teacher;
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili, with excellent writing and speaking in both; and
  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
