Title: Barista
  

Job Purpose Summary: The barista is responsible for serving all products with friendly, efficient and individualized attention towards each customer.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Greets all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items.
  • Verbally receives and calls back customer orders in a friendly manner.
  • Reports all customer complaints to the restaurant manager.
  • Answers telephone in a courteous and friendly manner to customers including, but not limited to, giving directions to café location, and receiving and filling customer orders.
  • Maintains efficient, friendly service
  • Serve and present hot non-alcoholic beverages such as blended teas, coffee, smoothies and juices quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards
  • Preparing and serving simple snacks.
  • Ensure time management is maintained including reporting hours.
  • Answers customer questions regarding tea blends, preparation, and product freshness.
  • Sells and serves baked goods and miscellaneous food items to customers.
  • Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them.
  • Re-stocking inventory and communicating store needs to the restaurant manager.
  • Maintaining equipment’s and ensures they are in good working order every morning before commencing work.
  • Collects stock fresh supplies from the restaurant store.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, or equipment.
  • Clean service or seating areas.
  • Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Reports potential safety hazards to the restaurant manager.
  • Reports any employee accidents to the restaurant manager.
  • Informs the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies.
Qualifications & Skills:
 
Education:
  • Diploma in Hotel Management or any related field from a recognized institution.
  • Must be a well-trained Barista in a recognized institution.
  • 3+ years’ experience in blending tea’s or coffee from established tea/coffee houses or restaurants.
  • Passionate, self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic team-player who is detail-oriented and action-focused.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and people skills.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
