ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN- 3 POSITIONS (JOBS AND VACANCIES IN KENYA SEPTEMBER 2013)

Our client a leading edible manufacturing company in the world has excellent career opportunity for Kenya individual who possess a passion for manufacturing, service excellence, strong work ethics, are committed to continual improvement and are result oriented. Our client is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to fill the positions.
The candidates must have worked in a foods factory and specifically handled the following areas:
1. Bottling or canning lines(PET bottles or Glass Bottles )
2. FFS machines mainly for powders or granulated products
3. Thick viscous products filling ( PET bottles or Cans)
4. Labellers and coding machines
5. Energy management and conservation activities
6. Boiler and other utilities operation
Reporting to the maintenance engineer the potential candidate must have worked in a foods factory.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer the potential:
  • Study equipment electrical diagrams ,blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine electrical installation procedures in line with electrical safety standards
  • Execute energy survey and audit findings or other initiatives either self-generated or delegated
  • Apply trouble shoot software related issues especially Siemens S7, Allen Bradley , Mitsubishi among others including handling programming issues
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, condition monitoring tasks to detect and forestall problems
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • In Liaison with the engineer, update equipment electrical spare parts list whenever needed or as result of major changes in technology or process.
  • Coordinate efforts with other maintenance staff involved in installing or maintaining equipment or components.
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment
  • Train mechanics and operators on simple diagnostic tools that reduce equipment and quality defects in a sustainable manner
  • Repair or adjust equipment, machines, or defective components, replacing worn parts, such as gaskets or seals in watertight electrical equipment
  • Develop or modify industrial electronic devices, circuits, or equipment, according to available specifications with approval from the engineer
  • Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications

EXPERIENCE
  • Not less than 4 years actively involved in maintenance work, trouble shooting and design work

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Mechanical Engineering Diploma –Plant or Production option, a HND in the same field is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge in TPM/Lean Sigma concepts preferred
  • Excellent leadership, motivational, organizational, and inter personal skills;
  • Excellent networking skills and a sound knowledge of the engineering environment;
  • Hardworking, self-driven individual with a passion for performance, team play and achievement in a competitive environment.
