National Sales Team Manager

Our client, a leading Producer and Distributor of Animal Health Products for both companion animals and ruminant livestock is looking to recruit a National Sales Team Manager. Due to rapid growth,  there is a need to increase the management capabilities in the distribution  network and as such are looking to implement the position of national sales team manager – Kenya.

Key Responsibilities;
        
  •         Responsible for management of sales team, including the development of an ongoing program of recruitment of interns and sales representatives.
  •      Responsible for setting sales team targets with the company directors and evaluating the performance of the sales team and sales managers against these targets.
  •          Monitoring sector and zone managers to make sure sales targets are met and exceeded, and imposing sanctions on sales agents and managers should target no hit.
  •         Regular regional visits to keep updated with the sales team.
  •          Introduce and implement the use of sales team management software (CRM).
  •          Hold monthly sales meetings between the sector managers, directors and third party product managers and present on the following:

Ø  Sales in sector vs. target.
Ø  Forecast by sector for the coming month.
Ø  Overview of marketing activities undertaken during the month and activities scheduled for the coming month.
  •          Carry out regular visits to distributors and key dealers with or without the sales team to build relationships and further business.
  •         Reporting on a monthly basis on performance of the sales team in achieving sales targets and making amendments to forecasts accordingly. 

Qualifications;

  •          Must have a business management / sales management degree from a reputable university.
  •          Must have at least 6 months experience managing a sales team of over 15 pax. nationwide.
  •          Experience working in the FMCG sector for at least 3 years, with a turnover of more than 600 million Kshs. per annum.
  •          Clean driving license minimum of 5 years.
  •          Good knowledge in Microsoft Office or equivalent applications.
  •          Demonstrable experience and use of sales management software in managing teams.


Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 200,000 - 400,000/= plus benefits (Approx. 2,000 - 4,000 USD) depending on experience

Head of Operations – Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania

Our client a leading Retail Store based in Dar Es Salaam, is seeking to recruit a Head of Operations in Dar Es Salaam, who will ensure products are seamlessly transported from supplier to the warehouse to the store branch. The ideal candidate MUST be willing to relocate to Dar Es Salaam and have detailed knowledge in retail.


Key Responsibilities;
  • Ensuring the appropriate product mix of goods is procured for each branch.
  • Ensuring competitive prices and margins of products for the company and the customer.
  • Ensuring the right product mix is available in each store.
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with suppliers and shippers.
  • Sourcing new products by Understanding customer preferences, buying habits and trends.

Qualifications;

  •         Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, purchasing and supply chain management.
  •         Master’s degree or higher in a similar field is an added advantage.
  •         Must have 5 -10 years of extensive and proven retail experience.
  •         Must be willing to relocate to Tanzania.
  •       Must have excellent negotiation skills.
  •          Ability to maintain supplier and shipper (transport) relationships.
  •         Must be organised and help drive savings and efficiency for receiving and transporting goods.


Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 125,000 - 200,000/= (Approx. 1,250 - 2,000 USD) depending on experience

Group Management Accountant

Our clients a dynamic Automotive Company based in Nairobi is seeking to recruit a Group Management Accountant who will compile, aggregate, consolidated and analyse business planning/performance related information pertaining their East Africa businesses. The ideal candidates MUST have over 6 years working experience with experience in the big 4 audit firms.

Key Responsibilities;

• Manage monthly financial reporting, group consolidation process and review consolidated financial statements.
• Manage quarterly analytical review of consolidated results, including streamlining data collection.
• Work closely with local finance personnel and external auditors on key drivers of financial fluctuations.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure preparation of consolidated audited financial statements.
• Collate & analyse the strategic plan, budget, quarterly forecasts and presentations.
• Analyse and present the financial and operating performance of the businesses periodically for review by all levels of management.

Qualifications;

• Must have over 5 years of finance experience.
• Experience in a big 4 audit firms will be an added advantage.
• Must be a CPA (K) and have a BA in finance/accounting.
• Must have a good understanding of IFRSs and ERP systems.
• Must have sound knowledge of MS Office, i.e. advanced skills excel / PPT preferred.
• Must have good interpersonal & organization skills.
• Must have an analytical mind with a keen eye for detail.

Financial Controller 

Our client, high end safari group, is looking for a Finance Controller for its offices in Nairobi. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and will be part of the local Management Team. He / she will be responsible for the Finance Team and of all Finance responsibilities and processes. Experience in the Hospitality/Restaurant/Catering industry is a MUST!

Responsibilities:

• Identify potential business risks and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Prepare the annual business plan / budget.
• Prepare the monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements/ reports.
• Support managers in monitoring the achievement of financial objectives; initiate corrective actions if necessary in cooperation with the managers.
• Ensure all tax activities are carried out and tax liabilities are optimized.
• Ensure an efficient and effective cash and treasury management.
• Ensure the data quality and integrity of the data in the financial reporting system.
• Implement effective internal control processes.
• Prepare and deliver financial studies, projections, analyses and feasibility. studies in order to enable the management to take business decisions incl. capital expenditures.
• Develop a pricing strategy.
• Plan, implement and control the cost budget in the area of responsibility.

Qualifications/skills:

• Graduate level with economic focus or equivalent experience and CPA.
• Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in Finance and Controlling.
• Knowledge of local accounting principles and regulations.
• Know how in controlling and in management information systems.
• Good understanding of the organization, technological and competitive environment.
• Business acumen.
• Proven experience in meeting tight group monthly reporting deadlines.
• Analytical, presentation and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili.

Finance Director


Our client an IT firm based in Nairobi is looking to recruit a Finance Director.  The ideal candidate must have experience in the big 4 or boutique investment firms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the CEO and COO to create strategic growth plans.
• To raise the equity and working capital.
• Lead and work on structuring equity instruments to raise capital.
• Liaise with large institutional investors to create a pipeline of investors.
• Negotiate with large debtors and banks.
• Coordinate tax and audit filings in each country of operation.
• Maintain banking relationships and monitor accounts.
• Oversee revenue, expenses booking according to globally compliant practices.
• Manage financial reporting for investors and the Board of Directors.
• Provide reports to the management team on performance to budget, cash flow projections, and risks.
• Drive strategic improvements to global operation, including country-specific tax-efficient Maintenance of global inventory.
• Evaluate and engage with advisors as needed.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree and Bachelors in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent.
• Five years minimum work experience in Corporate Finance.
• Investment banking or strategic consulting experience.
• Some work experience in a multinational company, preferably with operations in Africa.
• Strong investment banking experience specifically in Mergers and Acquisitions.
• Extensive network in the Private equity space.
• Understand deal structuring from a sell side perspective.
• Demonstrated resourcefulness in proposing new ways of creating efficiencies in global tax structures.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software tools, including Quickbooks.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Financial modelling expertise.
• Ability to manage a global, multi-cultural team of finance and accounting staff.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative nature.
• Ability and drive to work independently, solution-oriented.
• Outstanding written and verbal communications skills (English).
• Self starter and requires no operating manual.
• Copious amounts of humour.

Regional Finance Director

Our client, a dynamic International Protective Service is looking to fill the position of a Finance Director. The successful candidate MUST have International experience working in the security and defence sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial integration.
• Ensure compliance with all financial statutory reporting requirements in the appropriate jurisdictions.
• Effectively lead and direct the Finance teams across each operational countries and regional units.
• Implementing and maintaining the CoA as well as P&L and Balance Sheet formats across all legal East Africa entities.
• Preparation, analysis and reconciliation of monthly books of account and GL for the Africa corporate and regional reporting units.
• Manage bank accounts (opening / closing, new deposits, transfers etc.)
• Manage weekly cash flow reports.
• Prepare consolidated monthly and ad hoc reports for all East Africa legal entities to be sent to Parent Company.
• Manage the preparation and reporting of annual and quarterly budgets as well as reforecasting.
• Discuss and analyse actual vs budget variances with Regional Directors as well as internal senior management.
• Liaise directly with the auditors and prepare information as requested from Parent Company auditors.
• Work closely with the VP Finance and assist with any ad hoc duties as required.
• Payroll.

Qualification:

• Must demonstrate detailed financial awareness at senior leadership level including East Africa.
• Must have CPA/ACCA qualification.
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a fast paced environment.
Candidates with experience in the security and defense sector would have an add advantage.
• Controls costs and thinks in terms of profit and loss and added value.
• Manages time effectively.
• Works in an ethical manner, is systematic, methodical and orderly.
• Demonstrates ability to motivate teams to produce quality output within strict timeframes.
• Ability to work and interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Key responsibilities;

• Consult and support the sales of sanitary piping systems and solar systems.
• Provide product, service or equipment technical support.
• Work with consultants to obtain construction and installation requirements prior tendering for new upcoming projects.
• Develop recommendations for the resulting changes in specific product ranges.
• Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans and related customer documents.
• Responsible for design, calculation and project management for Geberit piping & pluvial systems.
