Operations Manager – Telecommunication


Our client not for profit Organisation that improves people’s life by providing information and applying scientific expertise’s to solve problems in agriculture and the environment is seeking to recruit an Operations Manager - Telecommunication. The successful candidate will assist in formulation and implementation of mobile strategies and Must demonstrate skills in BDM and have hands on experience in the Telecommunication VAS industry.

Responsibilities:

• Managing partnership with Key stakeholders for regional mobile -  based business activities on defined projects.
• Monitoring key local and regional trends in mobile services provision and recommending tactical responses.
• Development of projects concepts/proposals
• Developing business models and cases for new mobiles services
• Market scoping/research and opportunity scanning
• Liaise with Company centers and corporate business unit
• Initiate the development of marketing and promotional plans for mobile project.
• Networking and Key Account Management.
• Recruitment and management of sub-contractors and outsourced service partners

Qualifications:

Post – Graduate Degree in Agriculture, IT, Commerce and Business Management.
• Must demonstrate skills in BDM and Partner Relationship Management.
• Must have hands on experience in the Mobiles VAS industry preferably in the mobile for development context.
• Must be willing to travel.
• Must have entrepreneurial altitude with good analytical and business networking skills.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 350,000 - 500,000/= (Approx. 3500 – 5000 USD) depending on experience and qualifications.

Operations Team Member

A global leader in Labelling and Packaging Materials and solutions based in Nairobi is seeking to recruit an Operations Team Member. The preferred candidates MUST have prior work experience as a machine operator and mechanical background.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tend manual, automatic or semi automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production /processing operation.
• Sets up machine requiring high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
• Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
• Perform tests and checks product routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices and making some judgments against not readily measurable standards.
• Report any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
• Maintains production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
• Adjusts set up and process operations accordingly.
• Practice all health and safety procedures, policies and practices.
• Attend all required safety training.
• Understands and implements those ISO 9000 procedures that relate to the role.

Qualifications:

• Must have above 3 years experience in the production/process industry.
• Must have a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Must have a machine operation experience. 
• Must have a mechanical background.
• Computer literate.
• Good written and spoken English.

Monthly gross salary: Generous package depending on skills and experience.

Operations Programme Manager

IT / Operations Manager

Our client one of Kenya’s premier Building & Interior Product Companies with various Retail shops is looking to fill the position of an IT / Operations Manager. He/ she will be responsible for installation of computer systems, ensure back-up systems, purchasing hardware and software and providing ICT Technology infrastructures for an organisation. The successful candidate will be reporting to the directors and he / she MUST be able to speak Gujarati/ Punjabi / Hindi. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure setting up new user’s accounts in a uniform format and within a time frame.

Main Purpose of the Job: To oversee overall Management of financial and accounting systems, controls standards, policies and practices of the company and assigned SBU’s. 


Main Responsibilities
  • Oversees the continuous preparation of timely financial management reports for the decision making and drawing attention to matters affecting or likely to affect the various areas of the business.
  • Establishes, review and implement existing financial management policies and procedures and ensure full implementation and compliance by all staff
  • Directs and ensures maintenance and accuracy of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, receipts and expenditures, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses.
  • Ensures adherence to effective and efficient credit management system
  • Ensures effective cash flow management for Divisional SBU’s in liaison with SBU accountants
  • Ensures timely preparation of books of accounts for statutory Audit and liaises with the internal and external auditors
  • Continuously designs and maintains comprehensive internal controls to ensure best practice and compliance with GAAP and applicable laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Ensures preparation of all accounting reconciliations and ensures the relevant adjustments are raised
  • Ensures all statutory compliance with the relevant authorities such as NSSF, NHIF, PAYE, VAT, instalment & Corporation Taxes and the management of other statutory commitments.
  • Ensure effective controls on project funding by reviewing projects budgets, accounting for disbursements, and overall project cost management
  • Ensures scheduling of stock take exercises reviews stock valuation reports.
  • Coordinates annual budgeting excise for the division and ensure budgetary monitoring and control.
  • Oversees custody of the Divisional asset registers and ensures that all assets of the company are insured.
  • Liaises with the financiers and ensures all bank facilities are promptly serviced.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

  • Effective management of finances, cash flow management, credit management procurement processes, ledger accounts
  • Accuracy and timely preparation of Budgets, effective budgetary controls and financial reports

• Effective cost management on material procurement.
• Build key relationship for value with materials/goods suppliers.
• Focus on innovation and deliver innovative ideas aimed at step changing the purchasing process.
• Ensuring competitive procurement of material requirements in the organization.
• Participating in negotiations with material suppliers on existing and new engagements.
