Front Line Manager

This International Company based in Nairobi are looking for an Experienced Front Line Manager for their large factory to work closely with process managers. An Engineering-Science background is required with strong experience in Management. In depth knowledge of production/technical processes and procedures, particularly with respect to safety, output, quality, security and housekeeping a must.
Key Responsibilities:
·         Lead, control and coordinate the activities of the line, area and equipment to ensure that the relevant activities, products or services are planned, processed and delivered to specified standards, SLA’s, within budget and target KPI’s.
·         Empower the cell teams to have the ability and commitments to achieve KPI’s and resolve issues within the cell through coaching, training and effective delegation.
·         Drive through performance improvements to support Quality, Cost and Delivery targets.
·         Champion and facilitate the adoption and integration of lean manufacturing and best practice techniques to secure performance improvements and business unit efficiency.
·         Ensure the effective utilisation and cost optimisation of all resources within the area.
·         Technical Manager and point of contact for internal and external customers.
·         Support the Process Manager in the development of strategic plans for the area.
·         Proactively plan and engage with other departments/areas to ensure a collaborative approach and effective resolution of issues.
·         Provide point of escalation from the cell leaders for people, process, technical and resource issues.

Qualifications:
·         Qualified to Degree level or equivalent in Engineering or Science.
·     In depth knowledge of production/technical processes and procedures, particularly with respect to safety, output, quality, security and housekeeping.
·  Understanding of and ability to communicate World Class Manufacturing techniques including Lean manufacturing, 6 Sigma, SMED, 5S, VSM, KANBAN, KAIZAN etc.
·         Knowledge and experience regarding the application of structured problem solving methods.
·       Knowledge and experience of HR processes, (recruitment, absence management, performance management, grievance, disciplinary etc.), able to promote good employee relations.
·         Track record as change agent and of implementing best practice.
·         Good understanding of budgetary controls and variance analysis within an operational environment.
·         Ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop people and work within a team environment with a proven track record of leading multi disciplinary teams.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 220,000/= (Approx. 2,220 USD) plus Bonus, Medical and Pension

Warehouse Operator

Our Client, a Global Steam System Engineering Company is looking for a Warehouse Operator.

Key Responsibilities:

• Physical handling of all inbound and outbound deliveries of products to and from the warehouse.
• Receive incoming products, check that the products delivered match the accompanying shipping manifest.
• Produce the necessary paperwork to book the products into stock.
• Place products in the correct, allocated stock location within the warehouse.
• Receive orders placed, print, pick and pack lists from Enterprise One ERP system and pack for dispatch.
• Regular stock takes to ensure that there is the recorded quantity of products.
• Make sure that the warehouse is maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times.

Qualifications:

• Mechanical or Electrical Degree or related.
• Experience with mechanical handling equipment.
• Computer literacy will be advantageous.

The successful Senior Software Engineer (Java, JEE), will be part my clients new technical team to develop and maintain business solutions for Global Supply Chain and Trade Facilitation.  You will participate in the full software development life cycle from requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and post-implementation support.

Facilities Management Technician

Operations Team Member

A global leader in Labelling and Packaging Materials and solutions based in Nairobi is seeking to recruit an Operations Team Member. The preferred candidates MUST have prior work experience as a machine operator and mechanical background.

Key Responsibilities:

• Tend manual, automatic or semi automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production /processing operation.
• Sets up machine requiring high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables.
• Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances.
• Perform tests and checks product routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices and making some judgments against not readily measurable standards.
• Report any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
• Maintains production records and logs of equipment and product performance.

Chemical Engineer – Manufacturing

Building & Construction Mechanical Engineer – Sanitary Plumbing Systems

One of Kenya’s premier Building & Interior Manufacturing Company with various Retail shops across the country is looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate MUST have relevant working experience in the building & construction sector. Candidates with experiences working with Gebrit Piping & Pluvia Systems will have and added advantage.

Key responsibilities;

• Consult and support the sales of sanitary piping systems and solar systems.
• Provide product, service or equipment technical support.
• Work with consultants to obtain construction and installation requirements prior tendering for new upcoming projects.
• Develop recommendations for the resulting changes in specific product ranges.
• Prepare cost estimates by studying blueprints, plans and related customer documents.
• Responsible for design, calculation and project management for Geberit piping & pluvial systems.
• Work hand in hand with the Sales Manager.

Qualification;

• Must have a background degree / higher diploma in mechanical engineering.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in pre-sales for plumbing piping system.
• Must demonstrate experience working in the building & construction sector dealing directly with clients.
• Must demonstrate previous working experience with Geberit piping and pluvial systems.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills working with customer.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh.  80,000 – 100,000/= (Approx. 800 – 1,000 USD) depending on skills and experiences.

Plant Facilities Manager

Our client, an industrial leader in providing Global Workplace Solutions serving customers in more than 150 countries is looking to recruit a Plant Facilities Manager to be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate MUST demonstrate working experience in managing a manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance to Plant safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with local legislation regarding building and fire safety.
• Ensure proper supervision on jobs and sub-contractors through enforcements.
• Recommend solutions and implement appropriate corrective action for maintenance issues.
• Ensure good working conditions and champion high site appearance.
• Supervision of facility personnel including hiring, promotion and discipline.

Generator Supervisor – Somalia


Our client, a Construction, Logistics, Life Support and Maintenance Services for clientele operating in remote and demanding environments is looking to fill the position of a Generator Supervisor  for their offices based in Somalia. The successful candidate MUST have experience with generator operations and maintenance, physically fit and ideally have international exposure.

Key Responsibilities;

• Development of detailed cost estimates for routine and non-routine work.
• Development process of performance metrics, tracking, analysing and reporting performance.
• Supervising, directing, monitoring and scheduling day-to-day and long range activities for generator technicians.
• Resolving problems and/or conflicts and maintain open communication with the clients by providing regular written and oral reports.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to employees and provide resolution of complex problems
• Taking corrective action to bring about required changes and ensure contract requirements have been executed at a level above specified standards.
• Ensuring employees are properly following processes and procedures
• Complying with company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.

Qualification;

• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
• Must have a degree in engineering or industry certification
• Experience with generator operations and maintenance is mandatory.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a generator technician.
• Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a similar role.
• Must be physically fit, due to the location of the position.
• Must be willing to relocate.
• Have the ability to maintain a positive work environment and have superior communication skills.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 250,000/= plus flight, rotation, leave days, food and accommodation, personal accident and medical insurance (Approx. 2,500 USD)
