Restaurant General Manager

Our client is looking for a GM to run their restaurant in Nairobi. The successful candidate will be responsible to manage and direct all aspects of the restaurant operations and make sure that the guests are served exceptional food at all times. The candidate must be energetic, full of ideas, enthusiastic and someone that wants to play a crucial role in the development and guidance of this Restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:          
    
·         To oversee the general running of the operations of the restaurant
·         To implement procedures and systems and structures for the running of the organisation
·         To evaluate and verify all other departmental daily reports and advise the Executive Directors including on daily sales and all aspects of operations
·         To set out targets and performance evaluation systems for all the staff members including management staff
·         To implement a human resource management policy including shifts, training and orientation structure
·         To provide the management with monthly reports on the operation
·         To be the face of the organisation front of house on the restaurant floor attending to guests needs and enquiries
·         To promote the organisation amongst key Corporates and Business
·         To bring on board key accounts for the organisation
·         To develop new products and service offerings targeted at the Corporate market
·         To promote new events to the market

Qualifications:
·         Minimum education of Bachelor degree or Diploma in Restaurant Management or relevant discipline
·         Minimum of 5 years of Management experience in the restaurant industry
·         A passion for good food and wine
·         Ability to work flexible hours
·         Have excellent English communication skills both written and spoken
·         Posses professional disposition with excellent interpersonal skills
·         Computer literate
·         Strong organizational and planning skills

Monthly gross salary:  Very competitive salary

Head of Security.


Our client, a Sports Club in Nairobi, is looking for a Head of Security. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing all appropriate risk management strategies related to the safety and security, and the protection of assets in mission. Specifically responsible for the management, implementation and oversight of all security operations in support of staff and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Work closely with corporate executives, business managers, audit and legal counsel.      
·         Develop, implement and manage the overall enterprise process for security strategy.
·         Develop and implement policies, standards and guidelines related to corporate security.
·         Oversee the continuous monitoring and protection of facilities, personnel and information systems.
·         Serve as the enterprise focal point for security incident response planning and execution.
·         Define and implement ongoing Risk Assessment programs.
·         Establish and monitor formal certification programs.
·         Assist in the review of applications and/or technology environments.
·         Oversee the development of a corporate security awareness and training program.
·         Manage security.

Qualifications:

·         Solid military or police academy qualifications with a focus on security.
·         At least 7 years of experience in security operations and information management.
·         Proven operational unit or sub-unit command, staff and leadership experience.
·         Fluency in written and spoken English
·         Second language ability in the language of the mission area will be an asset
·         Ability to address publicly small and large groups of people
·         Excellent skills in information collection and analysis
·         Excellent planning, communication and organisational skills
·         High degree of responsibility, initiative, alertness and physical fitness
·         High standard of computer literacy and an excellent knowledge of security information related liaison and analysis

Monthly gross salary:  Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications

Personal Assistant & HR Manager


Our client, a leading bakery and pastry shop is looking to fill the position of a Personal Assistant and HR Manager to be based in Nairobi. The ideal candidate should be a dynamic, passionate & hardworking leader who is able to manage all administrative functions. He / she MUST have working experience in labour laws and payroll preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide support to the manager.
·         Payroll preparation as well as administrative duties.
·         Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority.
·         Dealing with incoming correspondence.
·         Producing documents, reports and presentations.
·         Liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff.
·         Devising and maintaining office systems, including data management etc.
·         Accounts and budgets follow up.

Qualification:

·         Must have 4 years and above experience in a similar role.
·         Must have a Degree in Business or related field.
·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Must have a high level of integrity and honesty.

Head of Housekeeping – Juba, South Sudan

Our client, a small boutique Hotel in Juba, South Sudan is looking for the Head of Housekeeping.
The successful candidate will be in charge of supervising and controlling the housekeeping department, laundry department, and flower arrangement cection and control the servicing of all bedrooms, restaurants, and function and public areas of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities;
·         Operate the housekeeping department and all other areas of responsibility in the hotel.
·         Work closely with and maintain a high degree of excellence for the Service Department.
·         Responsible for the standards of all guest rooms, suites, corridors, back-of-the-house storage and linen rooms.
·         Ensure front-of-the-house public area standards are excellent at all times.
·         Ensure all Supervisors continually inspect assigned areas.
·         Ensure effective and complete training is in use and all associates are well trained.
·         Ensure proper key controls are in effect.
·         Take accurate linen inventories per SOP.
·         Take accurate guest supply inventory every period.
·         Audit and approve schedules, wage projections, wage recaps and payroll.
·         Review out-of-order rooms daily.
·         Provide up-to-date job descriptions for all supervisors and associates.
·         Give immediate response to all Guest problems and correspondence.
·         Ensure Lost & Found articles are stored properly and logs are maintained.

Qualification;

·         Bachelor degree in Hotel Management or relevant discipline.
·         Minimum of 2-3 years in supervisory Housekeeping role in a similar capacity.
·         Experience in a 3/4 star class environment.
·         Knowledgeable in Housekeeping operation and cleaning methods.
·         Have excellent English communication skills both in written and spoken.
·         Presentable.

Monthly net salary: Ksh. 75,000 net plus accommodation, medical and leave 15 days every 5 months.

Conservation Manager - Maasai Mara


Our client is looking for a Resourceful Conservation Manager for a conservancy in Masai Mara. The successful candidate must effectively manage the ranger team in all their duties and maintain discipline and reporting structures as well as manage He/She must have strong community relations experience and speak fluently Kiswahili.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Ensure all users of the conservancy area are adhering to the conservancy code of conduct and by laws including those of the Grazing Regulations.
·         Implement the livestock management plan and ensure that this is appropriately controlled and communicated to all relevant stakeholders.
·         Oversee the collection of any cattle fines administered for trespass within the conservancy and ensure this money is appropriately recorded.
·         Ensure all conservancy equipment, infrastructure and assets are properly maintained.
·         Maintain a petty cash float and submit expense sheets for reimbursement.
·         Ensure effective communication is taking place between the Management Company and the Conservancy Landowners.
·         Produce a brief weekly report covering for the Board of directors:  Work completed & scheduled, grazing, wildlife, security and landowner updates.

Qualifications:

  • ·         Strong Organisational Skills.
  • ·         HR and workshop experience.
  • ·         Livestock experience an advantage.
  • ·         Basic accounting.
  • ·         IT knowledge including GPS tracking & mapping skills .

Head of Operations for Hotel on the South Coast


Our client, a family owned Hotel on the South Coast, is looking for a young, energetic and hands on Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible to manage the operational departments of the unit and will continually improve productivity, food quality, service and increasing sales and profit throughout the Hotel. Experience working on the East African coast is a MUST!

Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop with the Head of Operations, General Manager and Management Team annual operating plans for the hotel that are aligned with the strategic plans.
·         Set marketing strategies in line with overall company strategy and objectives.
·         Work with sales and marketing team to develop campaigns and offers to create awareness, grow market share and revenue.
·         Guide the development and approve annual operating plans for each  business unit.
·         Lead, train and manage the Departmental heads.
·         Forecast budget/Revenue and operating /capital expenditure for the hotel control approve and monitor revenue and expenditure against approved budget.
·         Put in place effective security systems.
·         Ensure all hotel operations are compliant with all licensing laws, health and safety codes, labour laws, and other statutory regulations.
·         Interact with government, regulatory institutions and customers suppliers’ financial institutions community representatives and general stakeholders.
·         Upgrade projects standard review and process reengineering projects.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor degree in Marketing/Business/Finance/Hotel Management.
·         At least 5 years working experience in a Managerial position in a resort.
·         Strong F&B knowledge.
·         Very creative - to bring new ideas and concepts.
·         Strong organization skills and show great attention to detail.
·         Excellent customer service skills.
·         Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
