Organizational Background:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. We are seeking to fill the
position of HR Officer in support of the WFP Somalia Country Office, based in Nairobi, Kenya.
The World Food Programme Somalia activities include food assistance for relief, emergency school feeding, nutrition and food
assistance for assets creation through provision of in-kind and cash-based transfers.
This position is open to qualified Kenyan candidates. Female candidates in particular, are encouraged to apply.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The HR Officer will work closely with the Head of HR and focus on the areas of learning & development, talent and career development,
employee engagement and culture, gender & diversity and inclusion. The HR Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
 Support staff capability development, working with managers to understand individual skills and operational requirements,
and help identify development solutions to equip staff with the skills and knowledge required to deliver Country Office (CO)
strategy;
 Conduct needs analysis and develop annual learning and development (L&D) plan;
 Track implementation of CO L&D plan, and measure achievements based on key performance indicators established by the
CO. This includes managing a data base/tracker on training activities, compiling information on internal training activities
organized by functional units and field offices, and informing all staff on available learning opportunities;
 Collect and maintain statistical data on training activities, produce reports and develop methods to assess and evaluate
training effectiveness;
 Manage the e-Learning platform and increase learning uptake through this channel;
 Coordinate language learning programs and initiatives;
 Support and deliver on-boarding activities to ensure new employees are successfully integrated into their new roles and the
organization; organize quarterly orientation sessions;
 Promote awareness of and compliance with WFP’s ethical standards and anti-fraud policies as well as in-house services such
as Staff Counselling, Peer Support Volunteers, Responsible Workplace Advisors and the Office of the Ombudsman;
 Support the Head of HR in the implementation of WFP’s People Strategy and the HR functional strategy;
 Manage the internship programme, Junior Professional Officer programme, fellows and UN volunteers;
 Drive the Gender Parity Action Plan in line with the specific targets established for the CO, and develop initiatives to increase
the percentage of female staff across all categories;
 Liaise with HQ colleagues on diversity and inclusion strategy and initiatives;
 Conduct regular support and capability-development missions to field offices in Somalia.
 Perform any other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Advanced university degree in Human Resource Management, Public or Business Administration, Industrial
Psychology or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience or
trainings/courses.

Experience: One or more years of postgraduate professional experience in Human Resources with an interest in international
humanitarian development. Experience working in a learning function, developing and implementing learning
strategies, and delivering trainings is highly desirable.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English is a requirement.
Knowledge
& Skills:

 Knowledge of HR best practices, techniques and processes with understanding of the basic theoretical
background;
 Analytical ability to compile, maintain and analyse data, prepare reports and draw conclusions;
 Effective interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills;
 Ability to work independently and cross-functionally with different partners;
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills;
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
 Ability to support more junior and/or less experienced members of the team.

Finance & HR Director

Recruitment & HR Manager

Our client, one of the world’s leading companies for Solar Home Systems with approximately 500 passionate employees, delivering a clean and affordable alternative to fossil fuels for low-income households, living without access to reliable energy is looking to fill the position of a Recruitment Manager for their offices based in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate MUST have a well proven track record in recruitment or any other HR related field.

Key Responsibilities;

• Management of countrywide recruitment activities.
• Defining & analysing market opportunities to attract high potential candidates.
• Building up the client’s employer brand by developing and organizing HR marketing events.
• Creating marketing materials and establishing a HR marketing plan.
• Conducting (online) direct search, draft and publish job ads, pre-screening of applications.
• Communication with candidates, conducting interviews, coordination and communication of results.
• Developing tests to assess job candidates in close cooperation with the department manager and reference checks.
• Support the COO regarding contracting and all employee related services.

Qualification;

• Must have a higher diploma in HRM.
• Must have a Master’s degree in business or social sciences.
• Must have a well proven track record in recruiting in local and international market.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in senior role(s), preferably in recruitment, HR, or HR marketing.
• Must have recruited for various levels of positions and can easily develop new networks and high potential candidate pools.
• Highly organized and able to train and coach junior recruiters.
• Excellent communicator and able to enthuse people to work.
• Must be passionate about matching people with positions and can easily detect talents.
• Must be able to work in a target driven and dynamic environment and have an affinity for solar energy.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 100,000 - 150,000/= (Approx. 1,000 - 1,500 USD) depending on experience

Human Resources Manager

Our Client, a Manufacturing Company is looking to recruit a Human Resources Manager. The ideal candidate MUST be comfortable working in a high pressure environment. 

Key Responsibilities;

• Develop and implement a policy framework for a workforce grading system.
• Overhaul and implement  performance management systems.
Operationalization of the manpower plan.
• Identify manpower needs in all departments in line with the company growth.
• Identify and meet staff training needs to match envisage industrial growth.
• Plan and conduct new employee orientation programmes to foster positive attitudes.
• Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions.
• Interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
• Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel related data.
• Management of annual leave schedule.
• Investigate and report on industrial disputes and/or accidents.
• Represent the organization at personnel related and union negotiations and forums.
• Negotiate in collective bargaining agreements and help interpret labour contracts.
• Prepare budgets for human resource related areas.
• Compliance with all statutory requirements.
• Support, motivate and cultivate a culture of teamwork amongst all staff.

Qualifications;

• Undergraduate degree in business administration with emphasis on HR.
• HR professional background.
• Minimum 4-years prior experience in key areas of HR policies and processes.
• Knowledge and understanding of local labour market and employment law regimes.
• Knowledge of benefits on compensation programs.
• Ability to manage teams, empower staff.
• Dynamic self starter with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to apply sound judgment to solve complex business problems.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to influence key stakeholders and  motivate staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 100,000 - 120,000/= (Approx. 1,000 - 1,200 USD) depending on experience
