Our client, one of the world’s leading companies for Solar Home Systems with approximately 500 passionate employees, delivering a clean and affordable alternative to fossil fuels for low-income households, living without access to reliable energy is looking to fill the position of a Recruitment Manager for their offices based in Nairobi, Kenya. The successful candidate MUST have a well proven track record in recruitment or any other HR related field.

Key Responsibilities;

• Management of countrywide recruitment activities.
• Defining & analysing market opportunities to attract high potential candidates.
• Building up the client’s employer brand by developing and organizing HR marketing events.
• Creating marketing materials and establishing a HR marketing plan.
• Conducting (online) direct search, draft and publish job ads, pre-screening of applications.
• Communication with candidates, conducting interviews, coordination and communication of results.
• Developing tests to assess job candidates in close cooperation with the department manager and reference checks.
• Support the COO regarding contracting and all employee related services.

Qualification;

• Must have a higher diploma in HRM.
• Must have a Master’s degree in business or social sciences.
• Must have a well proven track record in recruiting in local and international market.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in senior role(s), preferably in recruitment, HR, or HR marketing.
• Must have recruited for various levels of positions and can easily develop new networks and high potential candidate pools.
• Highly organized and able to train and coach junior recruiters.
• Excellent communicator and able to enthuse people to work.
• Must be passionate about matching people with positions and can easily detect talents.
• Must be able to work in a target driven and dynamic environment and have an affinity for solar energy.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 100,000 - 150,000/= (Approx. 1,000 - 1,500 USD) depending on experience

Procurement Manager

Our Client, a Design, Build and Management Company that specializes in constructions in remote areas are looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager. The ideal candidate will oversee the procurement processes of the company.

Key Responsibilities;

• Managing and controlling the entire supply chain and logistical operation.
• Full operational control of the systems with the flexibility to introduce new measures when current systems aren’t up to scratch.
• Introduction of new procurement and inventory software to be implemented across the group.
• Ensure competent, quality execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties.
• Management of staff to purchase and issue orders in accordance to specification.
• Work with storekeepers and foremen to ensure proper supervision of materials on site.
• Ensure all purchasing policies, procedures and good practices are followed and maintained.
• Maintain a complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
• Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned.
• Maintaining good relations with suppliers.
• Support relevant departments with quotations for the purpose of tenders.
• Responsible for all procurement staff to prepare and process purchase orders and documents in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and coordinate deliveries of items between suppliers to ensure timely delivery of all items to site/store on time.
• Source, select and negotiate for the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers and sub-contractors assigned.
• Plan and manage inventory levels of materials or products.

Qualifications;

• University degree in supply chain management preferable.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a construction company.
• Highly experienced construction procurement manager.
• Must be willing and flexible to travel locally and internationally.
• Excellent planning skills and highly organised with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of international procurement processes.
• Experience in managing the purchasing of construction materials and management of construction stores.
• Ability to work independently and under strict deadlines.
• Can adapt quickly to different environments.

Monthly gross salary: Competitive depending on experience and skills

• Optimize farm operational efficiency.

Finance Manager for an Energy project in Kenya

Our client, an International Renewable Energy company, is looking for a strong Finance Manager for its project in Kenya. The project will play a crucial role in enabling Kenya to achieve its “Vision 2030” objectives. The successful candidate will manage and report on the financial performance of the project company and all the contracts that have been entered into to construct, operate and finance the project. International experience is a MUST!

Key Responsibilities;

• Support to CEO in preparing annual operating plans (AOPs).
• Ensure compliance with all shareholders, lender and government agreements.
• Develop a contract management framework to ensure all SPV obligations under the relevant contracts are being monitored and complied with.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, and financial reports for management, shareholders and lenders.
• Monitor performance of the project against the base case financial model and prepare regular updated financial models.
• Manage relationship with OPIC and the agent bank under the financing agreements and preparation of updated disbursement requests, etc.
• Coordinate the draw down of funds from lenders and equity investors.
• Treasury and cash management, including foreign exchange exposure monitoring.
• Source and manage the following systems: GL system, reporting systems, economic development reporting systems, online banking systems and infrastructure.
• Establish appropriate policies and procedures to ensure that the reporting systems are fit for purpose and are being utilised effectively.
• Audit liaison and preparation of annual financial statements.
• Compliance with tax, legislative and statutory requirements for both the project company and the community trust.
• Ensure compliance with all cosec and defined regulatory requirements notwithstanding that certain functions will be outsourced per SLA.
• Preparation of economic development forecasts and budgets.

Qualifications;

• A university degree or similar - MBA is an advantage.
• Ideally experience in the Kenyan power sector.
• Strong project management skills.
• Excellent transaction and asset management skills.
• Strong in financial modelling and scheduling.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Experience in project accounting & finance.
• Experience in developing management information systems.
• Strong in risk management & mitigation.
• In-depth experience of working with lenders, financiers & lawyers in delivering power sector projects.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 600,000/= (Approx.6,000 USD)
