Senior Procurement Officer – Operations

Our client, a well-established FMCG company based in Nairobi is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer. He/she shall be responsible for managing the procurement process of all materials.

Key Responsibilities; 

• Assure availability of materials with the right quality, cost and risk.
• Effective risk management and governance of materials suppliers.
• Effective cost management on material procurement.
• Build key relationship for value with materials/goods suppliers.
• Focus on innovation and deliver innovative ideas aimed at step changing the purchasing process.
• Ensuring competitive procurement of material requirements in the organization.
• Participating in negotiations with material suppliers on existing and new engagements.
• Implementing material procurement innovation initiatives.
• Implementing of procurement strategy, policy and structure.
• Conducting annual procurement planning for materials with the respective departments.
• Managing tendering process for material requirements.
• Ensure full utilization of purchasing ERP in material procurement.

Qualification;

• Must have a business degree graduate in purchasing and supplies management.
• Post graduate diploma in purchasing and supplies preferably C.I.P.S.
• Basic accounting qualifications will be an added advantage.
• KSCE minimum of B (plain).
• Must have over 3 years’ experience in a busy procurement environment preferably FMCG.
• Must have operations / materials procurement experience.
• Excellent negotiation and deal closing skills.
• Experience in developing and maintaining supplier relations.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh.100,000 - 150,000/= (Approx. 1,000 - 1,500 USD)depending on experience
