Sales Manager – Malindi, Kenya

Our client, an International Hotel Management Company is looking to recruit a passionate and competent Sales Manager for its hotel in Malindi. The ideal candidate will be required to ensure maximum room occupancy as well as ensure that sales revenues are met and exceeded according to sales targets established by corporate sales. He /She will also be required to ensure excellent communication with key travel planner and decision maker. He /She must be willing to relocate to Malindi
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and layout of company and yearly event programs.
• Maintain an analysis of the travel industry in Kenya
• Have knowledge of external factors that may affect the company’s financial objective.
• Prepare and layout of action plan for educational and press trips.
• Participate and organize all trade sight inspections with detailed follow up.
• Knowledgeable of the competitive market and maintain a perpetual analysis of the travel industry.
• Perform direct sales & reservations of individual travellers for the E. African market.
• Prepare and price hotel banquet facilities and groups & meeting facilities and packages.
• Participate and organize all trade sight inspections with detailed follow up.
• Perform promotion, presentation and follow up of special offers and advertising.
• Source advertising opportunities and monitor competitor initiatives on a weekly basis.
• Fully conversant with sales budget, objectives and with all hotels & co. marketing programmes
• Accompany and follow up on site inspections.
• Prepare weekly sales & marketing reports and participate in quarterly sales meeting.
• Ensure payments in coordination with credit controller and financial controller.
• Maintain appropriate standards for discipline and dress, hygiene, uniform, appearance, posture e.t.c
• Maintain high level of awareness and exposure in major market areas.
• Maintain systematic customer satisfaction statistics and customer claim reports.
Qualifications:
• MUST have 5–7 years experience as a sales manager in a busy & well established hotel.
• MUST have experience in developing marketing and sales strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree in sales & marketing or a related field.
• Must have business acumen and an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Problem-solving & analytical skills to interpret sales performance & market trend information.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A positive 'can do ' attitude.
• Candidate Must have previous experience working in a 4 star hotel.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 136,000/= (Approx.1, 360 USD) plus Accommodation
