Maintenance Engineer

A well-established Manufacturing Company based in Nairobi is looking for a Maintenance Engineer. The job holder will be responsible for the entire plant and machinery maintenance, hands-on engineering, installation, commissioning, technical trouble shooting, problem solving, engineering and spares stores.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help in project planning and execution.
• Ensure that maintenance is carried out within approved costs and budget.
• Scheduling planned preventive maintenance and unplanned work.
• Help in drafting maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.
• Ensure comprehensive compliance with the occupational health and safety policy.
• Diagnosing breakdowns, root cause analysis for equipment failure and corrective measure.
• Ensure that all documentation and procedures are followed in line with ISO.
• Help the General Manager in sourcing of spares and services from different suppliers / distributors.
• Prepare requirements and ensure availability of maintenance work spares, materials and personnel.
• Maintain comprehensive records of stocks and maintenance carried out.
• Help General Manager in coordinating with contractors for jobs that cannot be handled in house.
• Take active part in controlling maintenance stores, tools, spares stores and equipment.
• Carry out and help in any other duties or functions as assigned by the General Manager.

Qualification:

• Must have a minimum of a Higher National Diploma or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.
• At least 3 years in a similar position.
• Have knowledge and usage of computer program packages.
• Have good knowledge of electrical - 3 phase circuits, single phase circuits.
• Should have fairly good knowledge of digital circuits, PLC based systems.
• Able to perform standard repairs on printed circuit boards.
• Be able to interpret and understand technical drawings and diagrams for fault finding.
• Must be able to handle a broad range of complex technical and professional work activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good planning, organizational skills, accountable and responsible.
• Accurate analytical thinking, result oriented and a good team player.
• Knowledgeable in Mechanical work (plant option), hydraulic & pneumatic related components and systems.

Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 35,000 - 45,000/= (Approx. 350 - 450 USD)depending on experience
