1. Duties and Responsibilities
Under the immediate supervision of the Associate Protection Officer and overall supervision, of Programme Officer the incumbent will perform the following functions:
a) Assist functional units, the Multi-Functional Team (MFT) and management to integrate
participatory and community-based approaches in the overall protection delivery strategy.
b) Support partners and PoC and host community develop community- based activities to address the concerns of the refugees.
c) Collect data for monitoring of projects and budgets from AGD perspective and write reports in a timely manner on all activities and maintain up- to- date data filing of the records.
d) Assist in analyzing protection risks and capacities of persons of concern and conduct regular counseling sessions for persons of concern bearing in mind cultural sensitivity of the working environment.
e) Identify people with specific needs and develop relevant interventions to address their concerns. Identify PoC with specific needs and make relevant recommendations for financial assistance.
f) Conduct BID and identify children with specific needs (UAMs, separated children) and address their needs according to UNHCR standards and support building office capacity on community-based protection initiatives.
g) Liaise and coordinate partners on issues of medical, education, GBV community mobilization, livelihood, celebration of commemoration days and f facilitate trainings on community services activities for partners and beneficiaries.
h) Assist in initiatives with host communities to involve national civil society groups in the protection of persons of concern.
i) Support implementing and operational partners as well as with displaced and local communities to develop community-owned activities to address, where applicable, the social, educational, psycho-social, cultural, health, organisational and livelihood concerns as well as child protection and prevention and response to SGBV.
j) Support participatory assessments by multifunctional teams and ongoing consultation with persons of concern.
k) Collect data for monitoring of programmes and budgets from an AGD perspective.
l) Accompany, and interpret for, senior management in their contacts with local interlocutors.
m) Draft and type routine correspondence, documents and reports using word processing equipment and maintain up-to-date filing systems.
n) Perform any other duties that may be assigned.

2. Qualifications:
Knowledge: Completion of secondary school education. Training in the related field of work.
Skills: Should display good computer skills (MS Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
Experience: Minimum of 4 years previous relevant job experience. Knowledge of MSRP, UNHCR learning programme (PLP) and knowledge of Administrative/Financial rules,
procedures, processes in the context of UNHCR offices and Field operations will be desirable
Language: Fluency in English and very good knowledge of the local
language

3. Supervision exercised and guidance given:
May supervise or give guidance to lower level staff.
