SECURITY OFFICER (6 months contract)
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organisation with the exclusively humanitarian mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavours to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles.
The ICRC Logistic Centre in Nairobi (Industrial Area) is seeking an experienced & highly motivated individual to fill the position of Security Officer.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the security of ICRC property, assets and staff;
Supervise the deployment of private security guards(BM);
Manage the security of the Logistics Centre/Complex warehouse overnight and on weekends;
Attend to traffic accidents involving ICRC vehicles and follow up with the relevant authorities;
Liaise between court and ICRC on traffic accident cases;
Undertake general administrative duties within the unit as delegated;
THE REQUIREMENTS
Certificate in security management or its equivalent;
Minimum 4 years work experience in a similar field;
Valid driving License(with driving experience for over 3 years),;
Excellent command of written and spoken English;
Certificate of good conduct;
Computer Literate.
High sense of integrity;
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
High degree of flexibility and willing to work irregular hours;
High sense of confidentiality;
Honest and reliable.
