Job Purpose
CAFOD Sudan
is seeking a qualified candidate to work alongside the Programme Officers and
Programme
Accompaniers
in Khartoum and other states of CAFOD operation to ensure our partners
effectively design, manage and implement CAFOD’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
(WASH) projects and programmes.
Job Scope
- Delivers programme/office support within agreed budget
- Responsible for monitoring use of programme funds and ensuring they are properly accounted for
Key Responsibilities
To develop and manage WASH and/or water
programmes and projects (40%)
- Contribute to the implementation, monitoring and review of CAFOD’s country strategy for Sudan.
- Lead in the development of new WASH and/water programmes and projects.
- Appraise WASH proposals from partners.
- Monitor the progress of projects and use the learning from this to inform future programme development.
- Responsible for quality implementation, management, supervision and support of the WASH project(s)
- Lead regular monitoring and evaluation assessments.
- Work towards continual improvement of processes and technical implementation of WASH programme.
- Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation and accountability in all aspects of project.
- Lead assessments leading to WASH and/or water projects and programmes.
- Identify and organise partner Capacity building in areas of WASH including emergency response
Relationship with partners and key
stakeholders (20%)
- To develop, nurture and manage relationships with CAFOD’s partner organisations.
- Develop, nurture and sustain relationships with relevant local stakeholders including local government, national networks and other agencies working in Sudan
To represent CAFOD’s programme at an
operational level (20%)
- In liaison with the Sudan Programme Manager, to sustain relationships with relevant bilateral agencies
- Attend WASH Cluster meetings, Coordinate with other WASH agencies and participate in the HWP process
- Lead on preparation of funding applications and reports for external donors
- Liaison and communication to ensure that the programmes are well understood.
To contribute to the financial
accountability of the programme (10%):
- Prepare and monitor budgets relating to both CAFOD and partner-led expenditure in conjunction with the Programme Manager.
- Deliver the programme within an agreed budget.
Programme knowledge and learning (10%):
- Use CAFOD’s programme management information systems effectively to produce management information and support decision making at both programme and corporate level.
- Keep up to date with development issues and trends, both within the relevant country/sector and more generally.
