Action Against Hunger has been present in Kenya since 2001. Currently, ACF Kenya Mission is implementing Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs in West Pokot, Isiolo, Tana River and Garissa counties, including Dadaab refugee camps.
Action Against Hunger has the following vacancies in the field of WASH:
WATSAN Officer-West Pokot County
WATSAN Officer-Tana River County

WATSAN Officer, West Pokot County (1 position) and Tana River County (1 position)
ACF Kenya is looking for a person who is flexible, self-motivated, ambitious, result oriented with technical skills in Water and Sanitation Projects.

The WATSAN Officer will directly oversee all construction activities related to water and sanitation in consultation with the County water and public health authorities.
The Officer will directly report to the WASH Program Manager and will supervise activities carried out by contractors or community members during assessments, technical surveys, construction of water points (such as piped networks, boreholes, and shallow wells) and sanitation facilities in schools to the agreed specifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop water and sanitation projects plan
  • Lead, supervise and manage construction activities through contracts and carry out community trainings
  • Contribute to program quality and accountability processes
  • Ensure program monitoring and reporting of WASH activities
Qualifications and Experience
  • At least diploma in water/construction with extensive experience in water and sanitation field activities
  • At least 3 years’ experience in development/construction of water systems/points and sanitation facilities in rural communities
  • Experience in developing the BoQs, work plan, and good in conducting assessments
  • Proven experience in developing project execution contracts and supervision
  • Proven experience in conducting training using participatory adult learning methodologies
  • Excellent reporting, organization, communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work and coordinate with County authorities
Duration of contract:  12 months, renewable depending on funding availability and performance
