DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURSES - KENAO SCALE 3 (RE-ADVERTISEMENT) - 1 VACANCY

Monthly Salary: Kshs.146, 100 to 185,827 plus other allowances ranging from Kshs.137,290 to 145,290

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, review and maintain appropriate HR practices, policies and procedures;
  • Develop and implement the annual HR plan derived from the Office Strategic Plan;
  • Prepare the departmental budget and closely monitor HR costs against budget;
  • Proactive manpower planning and recruiting staff;
  • Develop and implement staff training and development programs;
  • Coordinate, monitor and evaluate performance management and appraisal processes;
  • Develop and implement staff motivation and retention initiatives to ensure staff are highly engaged;
  • Engage in corporate strategy development and implementation.
  • Manage employee relations and related administration process;
  • Manage the payment and reward programmes
  • Oversee the activities directed at employee welfare, safety and health;
  • Coach, mentor and develop the HR and Administration team to ensure excellent performance and effective succession planning in the Department.

Requirements for Appointment
Appointment to this grade will be made from persons who must have at least 15 years’ experience in HR management, five (5) of which must be at a senior level overseeing a busy HR function in a similar organization and who must possess the following;
  • A Master’s Degree in Business Administration majoring in Strategic Management or Human Resources Management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource or related field
  • Member of IHRM (Kenya) or other recognized HR body
  • Proven intellectual leadership in managing people and operations;
  • Proven ability to think strategically and design long term plans;
  • Superior Communication skills both written and oral;
  • Superior analytical, interpersonal, conflict resolution, negation and counseling skills;
  • Demonstrate competence in IT
