Position: Business Controller - East Africa
 

The purpose of the job: Key Business Partner to our Commercial team providing support to drive financial and business performance and supporting Finance Manager where necessary.

Reporting to Finance Manager - East Africa, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Planning, budgeting and forecasting. Leading the business planning cycle processes and reporting working in conjunction with the various functional teams.
  • Business Performance management. Monitoring business performance, provide decision making support and challenging commercial teams where necessary.
  • Finance back office support. Assist with the management of the back office activities where necessary including tax compliance.
  • Process and control improvement Provide the necessary support to ensure compliance with group governance requirements to promote a strong internal control environment.
Requirements:
  • University degree. A Masters level qualification preferably in Finance will be an added advantage.
  • CPA or CIMA qualification.
  • 6-8 experience in Finance preferably with experience in Controlling / Reporting function in a busy FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge in Financial operation processes, planning, accounting, regulations and local GAAP
  • Good understanding of ERP accounting systems (SAP or Oracle)
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, proactivity and drive for professional development for self and others
  • Excellent Microsoft office working skills
  • AP, AR and Treasury experience an added advantage.
