activities include food assistance for nutrition, livelihoods, relief and
emergency school feeding, while also supporting humanitarian air and logistics
services, food security coordination and infrastructure rehabilitation
projects.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under the direct supervision of the Field Security Officer and under the overall supervision of the Head of Area Office, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:
- Review countrywide security situation on a daily basis and advise the Field Security Officer (FSO);
- Ensure full information is received and/or provided when starting/finishing daily period of duty;
- Support the FSO in investigations, incident reports and security assessments;
- Maintain up-to-date Security Plans;
- Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS) for equipment;
- Supervise daily security activities and report any deficiencies/issues and recommend possible improvements;
- Assign duties to security personnel and resolve problems;
- Instruct security personnel on the procedures to be followed during emergencies;
- Identify training needs and ensure that all security staff have knowledge of security procedures and instructions;
- Coordinate certification/trainings to receive defence weapons; Monitor use and maintenance of all defence weapons issued;
- Be responsible for security equipment issued to security staff and keep updated inventory;
- Manage the security database on daily activities, incidents etc; Provide reports upon request;
- Manage requests for driving services;
- Be the lost and found focal point and be responsible for flags;
- Respond to personnel and telephone enquiries;
- Liaise with the local administration, police authorities, fire services and other emergency services as necessary;
- Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Secondary school education supplemented by courses or diploma in security training or certified graduation from military or police academy.
- Experience: At least five years of progressively practical responsible experience within a national/military police or private security company.
- Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Somali language is a requirement.
- Knowledge: Background directly related with security issues (e.g. military, police etc.). Good political and social knowledge of the country. Training or practical experience in maintaining electronic databases, using standard computer applications and operations of automated alarm and video surveillance systems. Knowledge of how to operate metal detectors and other security equipment.
