Our client, a media monitoring company based in South Africa is looking for an Operational Manager to direct and coordinate the operations of its office based in Kenya.
The general operations manager will be responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of the office and operations through the provision of effective methods and strategies.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, manage and monitor the day to day operations of the office
  • Prepare and control operational budgets; control inventory; process salaries and plan effective strategies for the financial well being of the office.
  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures  n alignment with Group’s police framework
  • Organising recruitment and placement of required staff. Establish organizational structures.
  • Delegate tasks and accountabilities.
  • Establish work schedules.
  • Supervise staff. Monitor and evaluate performance.
  • Coordinate and monitor production, monitor performance and implement improvements.
  • Ensure quality of products.
  • Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity.
  • Manage maintenance of equipment and machinery. Provide technical support where necessary.
  • Communication – Monitor, manage and improve the efficiency of support services such as IT and other support functions
  • Plan and support sales and marketing activities.
  • Liaison with top management.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for operational activity.
  • Implement and manage operational plans which may include travelling to the main office in South Africa
Qualification/Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar position in marketing and advertising industry
  • Degree or Diploma in business  or related studies
  • Knowledge and experience in media and advertising
  • Knowledge and experience in business and management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of financial principles and practices
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Information technology skills
  • Should have critical thinking and problem solving skills
