Title:  Finance and Administrative Officer, Nairobi (Full-time)
Reports to: Executive Director
BACKGROUND
LAW is a new non-government organisation comprised of a network of prominent human rights lawyers and advisors. It provides innovative legal assistance to the least represented people, especially women and children, in fragile and conflict-affected states. LAW mobilises domestic, regional and global legal expertise to improve access to justice. We specialise in cases of forcible displacement and those at risk of displacement.
LAW is registered in Switzerland. LAW is now seeking a Nairobi-based Finance and Administrative Officer who wishes to be involved in the establishment of a new legal global non-profit. The position will be a full-time consultancy for a six month period, which may be renewable.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities: 
• Manage administration and human resources operations
• Manage financial statements and reporting, including managing annual audit
• Develop and maintain financial and accounting policies and procedures
• Management of global registration of LAW and government filings
Job tasks include:
• Managing schedules including setting up meetings, calls and travel arrangements
• Managing human resources including organizing and filing staff contracts and other documentation
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Prepare bank and credit card accounts reconciliations
• Maintain fixed assets and amortization schedule
• Maintain inventory records and prepare related general ledger entries
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and cash flow forecasts
• Prepare management reports
• Assist executive director in preparation of the annual budget
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures
• Ensure the financial policies and procedures are followed across the organization
• Prepare schedules, supporting documents and draft financial statements for annual audit
• Liaise with external auditors
• Communicate with management companies and gaming suppliers
• Identify IT needs for the accounting department
• Implement accounting systems as needed
• Design financial and management reports
• Update chart of accounts 
Expectations:
• Maintain accurate financial record in accordance with Swiss Law
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure Swiss legal compliance
Minimum qualifications:
• A minimum of five years experience in financial management, professional designation preferred
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Accounting
• Certified in Public Accounting preferred
• Demonstrated financial management and accounting skills
• Experience working with an international NGO
• Ability to work effectively and accurately on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
