CAP Youth Empowerment Institute Kenya, supported by MasterCard Foundation, is established to provide Basic Employability Skills Training (BEST) for disadvantaged youth with particular focus on women to get equitable, qualitative learning and access to promising labour market oriented opportunities, savings and credit that support their pathways to safe and positive futures.The key purpose of the organization is to assist 10,000 disadvantaged youth to make informed choices, develop labour-market oriented employability skills and access job placements, savings and enterprise development support.
 About the Position
Entrepreneurship Manager will coordinate the entrepreneurship, financial literacy and savings components of the employ-ability component. 

  • Imparting Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship and Savings curriculum.
  • Forming the groups and encouraging a savings behavior.
  • Helping the trainees in setting up Enterprises.
  • Linking the trainees to Banks / MFIs and Government Funding agencies.
  • Coaching and mentoring young entrepreneurs.
  • Network with financial institutions to assist youth obtain funding for their businesses.
  • Assessing the business plans prepared by the youth and recommending necessary changes that make the business plans competitive.
  • Help youth access credit facilities from credible financial institutions e.g. banks, MFIs.
  • Mobilizing and supporting the youths to form groups, start businesses and link them to financial institutions.
  • Monitoring the entrepreneurship activities across all centers.
  • Working with facilitators to support trainees to set up Enterprises.
  • Document best practices of financial literacy and entrepreneurship to help in developing and improving the existing material on financial literacy.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to bring financial literacy initiatives into the program.
Requirements
  • 3 years’ experience preferably in microfinances.
  • Ability to forge partnerships.
  • Knowledge/experience in individual and group savings.
  • Degree in Entrepreneurship or related field.
  • Excellent networking & presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated Experience in delivering financial literacy module, entrepreneurship and helping group of trainees to set up enterprises.
  • Past experience of working with NGO and micro-finances a requirement.
  • Experience in mobilization of savings.
  • Proven track record of linking young people with financial institutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills.
