Marketing Manager (Kenyan Jobs, Jobs in Kenya March 2014)

Title: Marketing Manager
Key Accountabilities: Typical duties included are but not limited to:
Marketing Requirements:
  • Implement marketing and advertising campaigns by assembling and analyzing data
  • Prepare market intelligence, plans, and objectives
  • Track products & services performance
  • Prepare marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing sales data.
  • Follow up on promotional materials by coordinating with marketing department.
  • Research competitive products & services by identifying and evaluating products & services characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising.
  • Monitor Marketing budgets by analyzing actual campaign results
Corporate Communications Requirements:
  • The ability to be the comms liaison officer for the East Africa region with the Corporate Communications office.
  • Strategic Planning: Ensure that the market-specific communications activities are aligned with the underlying business strategy and strategic communications toolkit for message content, tone and delivery in various media.
  • Press Office Function: Establish and update a press office that includes a library of information and documentation related to all operations, to be able to respond to media inquiries quickly and efficiently. Must liaise with the media, building relationships over the long term.
  • Press Releases: Draft and distribute regular press releases to media, related to corporate achievements and milestones to build awareness. Such announcements are linked to specific achievements and as per company’s global business plan.
  • Media Engagements: Host press conferences and briefings, when appropriate, after liaising with Corporate Communications
  • Media Interviews: Identify print and electronic media interview opportunities with both the national and regional media for spokespeople and key stakeholders.
  • Events: Identify conferences and speaking engagements relevant to Aramex and stakeholders
  • Internal : Provide regular updates to the Comms Team on noteworthy market activities, including business achievements, growth and expansion related news,  launches, agreements and CSR activities
Branding Requirements:
  • Maintain brand identity consistency across touch points, including, but not limited to: vehicles, signage, retail space, uniforms, advertising and other forms of visual representation and content.
  • Work closely with agencies and vendors for correct creation and implementation of brand related projects
  • Support implementing the global annual brand plan.
  • Keep up to date on the latest media methods & processes for the best benefits of the brand.
  • Follow up on quality of production, and delivery period of production for BTL materials.
  • Provide updated information on advertising and branding activities of competitors in the market.
Qualifications/Skills
  • MBA/Bachelor Degree in related field
  • MBA in marketing is an added advantage
  • Certification from CIM
  • Computer Proficiency: MS office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook)
  • Possession of proven business networks.
  • Must have excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Must be able to work well in multicultural environment
  • Must have excellent analytical and research skills
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5years’ experience within a similar position
  • Solid knowledge of Marketing and PR
