Tour Consultant ( In and Outbound)

Job Summary

• The candidate will be posted in our head office at Green House Nairobi.
• She/he will be reporting tthe Tours and Travel Manager

Job Responsibilities & Priorities:

• Responding tenquiries regarding hotels & safaris within 24hrs
• Create and sell innovative tour packages tmeet market demand
• Prepare itineraries tthe various destinations of interest
• Doing research and producing periodical newsletters with current offers tbe sent out tclients
• Doing tour bookings – both inbound and outbound
• Ensuring KWS park rules & hotel regulations are made clear ttourists
• Ensuring payment for each tour booking is received in advance or proper authorization is received from a corporate prior tcredit sale
• Creating contact with hotels, car hire, sightseeing attraction and other service providers for best competitive contract rates
• Ensure bookings that dnot mature are cancelled in time tavoid cancellation penalties especially for hotels
• Arranging tsee vehicles (and if possible be accompanied by customer reps) before start of service tensure quality and minimize customer complains
• Briefing drivers before they depart for safari
• Preparing welcome pack for tourists before departure for safari
• Ensure clients’ special requests especially on accommodation & room specification, driver guide language, meals and others are prearranged. (eg. ensuring families are booked rooms closer together & pork is not served tMuslim guests etc.)

Professional Qualification

• KCSE C plain and above.
• Degree in Tourism/Travel Management or
• Diploma in IATA/UFTAA consultant level (Air Travel Operations) and
• Diploma in Foundation Level (Air Travel Operations)
• Over 5 years experience as a Tour Consultant in a busy environment.
