Britam’s Asset Management Company is experiencing rapid change that is consistent with its own strategic plan, and with the changes in the dynamic and competitive investment management industry. 
The change initiatives are across many fronts – new product development and innovation, talent, culture, operating platform, and distribution.

The Company is also expanding across the Eastern African region as well as developing products targeting international investors.  
Creating and maintaining relationships with clients on an ongoing basis is an integral part of this approach. 

Reporting to the Managing Director the successful candidate will help

  • Develop and implement a strategy for building institutional business across all products – pensions, private equity, property, cash management and offshore funds
  • Drive institutional sales by developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Ensure preparation of service offer tenders on a timely basis
  • Develop and implement an framework for client coverage
  • Collaborate with product owners to ensure that products and services are responsive to client needs
  • Achieve high customer service standards to the customers
  • Collaborate with marketing department to develop market research
  • Develop a strong understanding of customers and market dynamics
  • Network in industry associations, trade shows, including after-hours events
  • Provide timely feedback to the Managing Director and the business regarding performance, coverage activity reports and account strategy concerns
  • Be a strong advocate on behalf of clients.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business related field. A post graduate degree will be an added advantage
  • Finance related professional certification will be an added advantage
  • Working experience of at least 5 years in investment management or pension related field
  • Experience with developing and implementing a strategy or plan, preferably in sales and marketing
  • Knowledge of the rules governing both the financial industry in Kenya and also familiar with the pensions regulation
  • Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a fast paced, high pressured, team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate well at all levels in a clear, appropriate and timely manner
  • Knowledge of investments and financial markets.
