Title: Procurement and Administration Officer
The focus of the position is to develop and implement purchasing policy and strategy, to co-ordinate purchasing practices and to maximize savings and benefits available to AAIK from purchasing activities.
Key responsibilities will include the following;
- Preparation of periodic procurement plans;
- Offering advisory services to user departments for effective and efficient implementation of procurement plans;
- Prequalification of suppliers;
- Preparation and analysis of tender documents;
- Implementation and enforcement of procurement policies and regulations in the HQ and LRPs;
- Compiling requests for supplies and preparing purchase orders;
- Maintaining an up-to-date database of suppliers;
- Evaluation of tenders and requests for proposals;
- Development and Implementation of an effective stores management system;
- Issuing of local purchase orders and service orders;
- Receiving and custody of Pre-qualifications, RFPs and Quotations;
- Participating in the evaluation of Proposals and Quotations;
- Participate in the maintenance of facilities and AAIK Assets.
- Participating in safety and security matters including liaising with the security Focal person to deal with emergencies.
- Participate in the maintenance and Disposal of Assets
Qualifications
- A Bachelors Degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management, Procurement or its equivalent from a recognized institution; and
- Satisfactorily served as Procurement Assistant in a comparable position with similar responsibilities in like organizations for a minimum period of three (3) years.
- Knowledge of import and export processes an advantage.
