Coordinator
VUMA requires a qualified and competent
Project coordinator for the Tunaweza Project. Tunaweza Project is a HIV
prevention program supported by Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
(EGPAF). VUMA is a community based organization located in Nanyuki Town.
Job Details
The Project Coordinator will have the
following responsibilities:
- Ensure close collaboration with EGPAF for smooth implementation of HIV prevention programs activities and be the point of day-to-day communication with the donor
- Prepare and submit project plans – work plans, operational plans and guide the preparation of costed activity implementation plans
- Work with the VUMA finance staff to prepare and review project budgets and expenditure reports Provide guidance, mentorship and offer supervisory oversight to entire program staff for field HIV behavioral, biomedical and referral activities
- Take leadership in project monitoring and evaluation for quality assurance
- Ensure timely development and submission of programatic and financial reports to donors
Qualifications and
Abilities
The candidates should have the
following qualifications and abilities:
- A Bachelor’s Degree (in health studies or social sciences)
- At least two years’ experience in project management with understanding on monitoring and evaluation principles
- A demonstrated understanding and experience in evidence informed HIV programing (experience in managing FMP, HC2, HCBF, HTC , cPwP among other interventions will be important)
- Ability to manage community based programs i.e. organize staff, ensure clear reporting lines and activities and ensure supervisory structures are in place to assure ‘quality’ at varied levels of service delivery
- Has computer skills especially ; MS word, MS excel and MS power point (knowledge in any statistical package will be an added advantage)
- Experience in managing /developing staff and ability to lead project teams Demonstrated knowledge on US government rules and regulations
- Has good community and partner relations, advocacy and communication skills
