LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST - 1 POSITION (JOBS AND VACANCIES IN KENYA SEPTEMBER 2013)

Community Health Partners (CHP), Kenya is a Faith Based Organization offering wholistic, affordable and accessible health care services to the general public in Narok and Kajiado Counties. CHP Kenya Health Program seeks to recruit the following High caliber Professionals for its Rural Health Facilities in Narok County.
Job Description
The Laboratory Technologist will ensure and maintain high quality control and assurance in the laboratory work and in compliance with the National and international Laboratory regulations. S/he will be supervised by the Laboratory In-charge.
Key Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to:
  • Ensuring all Laboratory equipments are in good condition before starting the day’s work.
  • Ensuring availability and optimum utilization of reagents for cost effectiveness
  • Specimen collection, analysis, interpretation, reporting and dispatch of results.
  • Reagents preparation and storage.
  • Producing timely and accurate in line SOPs
  • Billing all procedures to capture revenue.
  • Documenting all processes and results to ensure availability of supportive information
  • Implementing all set stock control procedures to ensure accountability
  • Ensure Superior Customer Experience to all internal and external clients
  • Conduct outreach laboratory services.
  • Participate in continuous professional development.
  • Compile reports on activities undertaken

Required Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years experience.
  • Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a board recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologist and Technicians Board.
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in Ms Office packages.   

Required Competencies:
  • Willing and ready to work in remote / interior regions of Narok County.
  • At least two years experience in community work among the Maasai.
  • Experience in working with CBOs/FBOs/NGO’s is and added advantage
  • Fluency in Maasai language will be an added advantage
  • Team player.
